Shunter Driver

We are looking for a capable, reliable, and safety-conscious Shunter Driver to join our Yard team. This is a vital role that helps keep our transport and warehouse operations running efficiently by ensuring trailers and vehicles are moved safely and positioned correctly to meet operational demands.

As a Shunter Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, trailers, and equipment across our yard and warehouse areas. You'll work closely with our Yard, Transport, Dispatch, and Production teams to ensure trailers are available where and when they're needed, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely manoeuvre and park vehicles and trailers within the yard.
  • Position trailers at loading bays to support inbound and outbound operations.
  • Carry out daily vehicle and trailer safety checks, reporting defects in line with Vehicle Off Road (VOR) procedures.
  • Complete trailer movements safely and efficiently according to the daily operational plan.
  • Couple and uncouple trailers safely when required.
  • Maintain accurate records of trailer and vehicle movements.
  • Communicate effectively with the Yard Team, Packhouse Transport Desk, and Dispatch colleagues.
  • Support other yard activities when required, including Gatehouse, Banksman, or Forklift duties (where trained).
  • Keep the yard clean, organised, and safe.
  • Follow all company Health & Safety, Food Safety, Hygiene, and site procedures at all times.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, and enjoys working as part of a busy team.

You'll ideally have:

  • A valid Shunter Licence with relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, transport, or logistics environment.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Confidence working in a physically active role involving manual handling.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
  • The ability to use handheld scanning equipment or a willingness to learn.
  • Pride in your work, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high standards.
  • A positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and respect for colleagues.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
  • Previous experience in a packhouse, warehouse, manufacturing, or food production environment is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Working Hours

  • 45 hours per week across 5 days
  • Shift pattern scheduled between 07:00 and midnight.
  • Flexibility is essential to meet business needs.

What We Offer

  • Up to £16.12 per hour.  Overtime at time and a quarter after 45 hours.

Dispatch Operative - Late Shift

We are looking for a reliable and organised Dispatch Operative to join our team and play a key role in ensuring customer orders are accurately prepared and dispatched on time.

Working within a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for preparing shipments, moving stock using pallet trucks, and supporting the efficient operation of our dispatch department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Picking and preparing customer orders for dispatch.
  • Loading and unloading products safely and efficiently.
  • Operating manual and/or electric pallet trucks to move stock throughout the warehouse and dispatch areas.
  • Ensuring orders are accurately checked against dispatch documentation.
  • Wrapping, labelling, and securing pallets ready for transport.
  • Assisting with stock movements and storage.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Following all health and safety, food safety, and company procedures.
  • Supporting other warehouse and operational activities as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, dispatch, logistics, or manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Experience using pallet trucks is advantageous.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you will play a key role in maintaining, improving and developing site equipment to maximise performance, reliability and efficiency.

What You'll Be Working On

Our engineering team maintains and supports a wide range of production and automation equipment, including:

  • Fruit grading equipment
  • Flow wrapping machines
  • Robotic case packers
  • Strappers
  • Palletisers
  • Conveyors

This role offers excellent exposure to automated production systems, fault finding and continuous improvement projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will support the smooth running of our production and packing operations by ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across site equipment and machinery
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Working closely with production teams to plan maintenance activities and minimise operational disruption
  • Assisting with equipment upgrades, installations and commissioning projects
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems
  • Managing critical spare parts inventory and sourcing replacement components when required
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and health and safety legislation
  • Supporting root cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective actions following equipment failures

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, food processing or similar environment
  • Strong electrical engineering background with mechanical maintenance capability
  • Recognised engineering qualification such as:
    • Electrical Apprenticeship
    • City & Guilds
    • ONC/HNC
    • NVQ Level 3
    • 18th Edition
    • Equivalent engineering qualification
  • PLC fault finding and diagnostic experience
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments

Desirable:

  • Experience working within food manufacturing, fresh produce, packaging or automated production environments
  • Continuous improvement experience

Working Hours

The role operates on a rotating shift basis, primarily covering:

  • 07:00 - 19:00
  • 12:00 - 00:00

Some 09:00 - 21:00 shifts may be required during quieter operational periods.
