Dame Kelly Holmes leads cyclists on GGKCR2018

Dame Kelly Holmes joined 70 other amateur cyclists to take part in the Goatham's Great Kent Cycle Ride 2018, on Friday 6 July, leading the riders off from our HQ at Flanders Farm.

The riders spent three days and covered 205 miles across Kent, to raise funds for Kent Sports Trust and a donation will be made to Help for Heroes. During their journey, they visited some of the major attractions of Kent, including Leeds Castle, Gusbourne Vineyard and the Shepherd Neame Brewery.

Young Arthur Goatham sounded the starting horn and joined our team who waved the riders off.

Chief Executive Officer of the Kent Sports Trust, Steve Wolfe, commented: "Last year the funds we raised through the Goatham’s Great Kent Cycle Ride helped fund projects such as providing trampolining sessions for children from deprived areas and walking groups for isolated and lonely individuals. We couldn't run this event without the support of our main sponsor AC Goatham & Son and other sponsors Shepherd Neame, Holiday Extras, Go Outdoors and The Q Hotel Ashford International.

Carol Ford at AC Goatham & Son comments: “This was once again a fantastic initiative for AC Goatham & Son to be involved with and we hope all of the cyclists who took part enjoyed the event whilst helping to raise funds for two very well deserving organisations. We want to also encourage people to give cycling a go, especially if they are looking for a fun way to keep fit and healthy.” For details of the 2019 ride contact office@kentsportstrust.org or call 01634 820780.
