On the sixth day of Christmas – Six Geese a Laying

Orchards make the perfect home for geese. Long before we used to grow our own fruit, Arthur and Phyllis Goatham who founded our business picked fruit for local farmers, and they would have had to dodge the geese, who were very good at keeping intruders away from pinching the fruit!

Fruit picking has certainly changed from this very early picture, before Arthur and Phyllis, from the family archive.
